Lovely seaside cottage with a surprising amount of space This cottage is lovely, just a stone's throw from the beach making it fantastic for entertainment for little ones! The house has the the added bonuses of a study, a utility room and the conservatory which makes it spacious. It's well equipped with everything you could need and the special logs for the fire make it very easy to have a fire experience. Port Erin is a great place. We highly recommend the very interesting and intimate restaurant 'versa'.

Faultless Clean, comfortable, warm. Perfect location and well equipped. I really can’t fault it. Right near the beach, as it’s an upside down house, it’s very quiet in the bedrooms even when windy. It’s my second stay here and won’t be my last.

Beach side escape Excellent property, with such easy access to the beach. Also, very handy location for shops in Port Erin. Slight challenge with my mother, who found the stairs and the slope to the front door a little tricky; I liked it very much, but we will need different accommodation of we bring my mum to the island again. Space was good, and the place was well equipped.

We loved Surfside cottage and every minute of our stay. We have had a number of dog friendly staycations over the years and each cottage has its own character, but Surfside has been the best yet. Idyllic location with fabulous views. Perfect for the beach and walks along to Bradda Head. Good range of independent shops and eateries are out of sight but only a minute or two away. Foraging Vintners was temptingly just a stroll across the beach for our "sundowners". We did the kayak trip round Bradda Head beneath the soaring cliffs, through caves and round rocks to see the old copper mine buildings. Next time we will go paddleboarding.  Surfside cottage is cosy and comfortable. Nicely furnished and well equipped with plenty of storage space and a handy utility room. Our dogs had a wonderful time as well- lots of exciting walks followed by a snooze stretched out in front of the log burner. Port Erin has very friendly and welcoming community of dog walkers who we met every morning and evening on the beach. The weather was perfect sunshine for our whole stay. The jigsaw puzzles and books were sadly neglected. I wish we could have stayed for longer but we will be back very soon!

Another brilliant stay at Surfside. We love this cottage and Port Erin is such a beautiful location. Lovely views across the bay from the lounge. Great for local walks and perfectly placed to explore the island as well as having plenty of local amenities on hand. Thanks Hilary & Steve for making us feel so welcome and us such a comfortable stay again.

Lovely long weekend at Surfside. Weather was good for this time of year (early Oct) so we had time to enjoy walks in the local area. Great meals out locally to celebrate family birthday- The Shore and Athol Park Chinese Restaurant. Lovely brekkie at the Whistlestop Cafe. The cottage is so cosy with great views. Fabulous shower and comfortable beds. Fully stocked log burner and a great little kitchen. Highly recommend a stay at Surfside. Thanks to Hilary and Steve for taking care of everything

We all enjoyed our stay at Surfside - Molly couldn't believe her luck, three walks a day on the beach even one at midnight! We made the most of every moment. Bradda walks with all the seats was beautiful. Surfside is in a superb position so close to the beach and Bridge Bookshop.  Surfside is a warm and cosy place to come back to after walking the beautiful beach. It had everything we needed and helped us relax. Thank you Steve and Hilary

Lovely beachside cottage - Can there be any better place to stay when the waves are crashing on the beach and the wind is howling? We lit the log burner and enjoyed looking out at weather unfolding in front of us. The cottage is well equipped with hundreds of Dvds, books, games and magazines. Paaie and Orry loved staying right on the beach and sharing an Ice Cream. They declared it was the “best place ever“.

Wonderful staycation at Surfside. This is a really beautiful cottage, right on the beach, perfect for sea swimmers - I was able to swim in stunning Port Erin bay every day. So peaceful and yet everything within reach - it honestly could not be more perfect. Thank you Hilary and Steve. We have fallen back in love with Port Erin and we will be back

Surfside is a charming cottage very close to one of the best beaches on the island. We loved the picture window over the beach, watching the activity out there - walkers, swimmers, kayaks, paddleboarders, sand castles all during social distancing which ended half way through our stay. There are lots of lovely walks around with amazing views. Highly recommended

I had a week's work on IoM and we rented Surfside for us and our dogs. Loved the fine quality sail loft style of the cottage and that we could let the dogs straight out of the door to get onto the beach. For animal accompanied guests, there is an excellent vets 50 yards round the corner. For those not used to the IoMan, the bay of Port Erin, Bradda Head with its town and distant sunset views on the Mountains of Mourne are never to be forgotten

Stayed at Surfside a few years ago and returned last week for a weekend stay. The cottage was just as we remembered it. Great location. Literally a skim of a stone away from the beach. Close to the village and all local amenities. We will definitely be back.

We’ve been coming to the island for a very long time and even had our honeymoon here in Port Erin. Ten years ago we found Surfside and have been coming here ever since, sometimes twice a year. We find that the cottage is ideally located in Port Erin only twenty metres from the safe beach and sea, totally handy for all the shops and amenities in the village. Take my tip and get yourself a Go Card from the railway station in Port Erin. It’s great value for money and entitles you to unlimited travel on the frequent buses and the steam, electric, mountain railways and the horse drawn trams. Surfside is ideally situated for many great walks starting in Port Erin. Wherever you go the views are always spectacular of the lovely landscapes or seascapes. Using the transport network you can jump on and off and start a different walk. It really is that easy and the cottage information pack is full of great stuff for you to go and do. Good food and beer are found within a short walk of the cottage, as are several fast food outlets. The Shore at Gansey is our favourite but there’s plenty to try. This year we had our 16 year old granddaughter and her friend over for five days. They had a great time from paddle boarding in the bay to safely travelling anywhere on the island. They didn’t get bored. We’ve already booked our next years break. Thanks Hilary and Steve.

We are also returnees to Surfside. We love the Isle of Man and Port Erin is such a good base to see the island. The views of the sea and headlands from Surfside are excellent and we added to my collection of wonderful sunset photographs. We will be back

This is the third time we have stayed at Surfside and it certainly won’t be the last! The cottage is very comfortable and is perfectly situated as a base to explore the Island. The lovely beach is just a few steps away and the steam train, buses & shops are only a few minutes walk away. The scenery here is beautiful and if you’re lucky (as we were this time) you can see some beautiful sunsets. Our thanks to Hilary & Steven for another brilliant stay.

Our 3rd.stay at Surfside, a superb base in a superb setting, lovely to come "home" to after a busy day. Recommendations: Peel Castle, Snaefell Mountain Railway, Mann Cat Sanctuary, "Pie 'n' Mash" Steam Train, Bridge Books. Thanks again Hilary for your assistance, I don't think we'll wait another 5 years before returning!

A delightful first visit to IOM. Port Erin proved an ideal spot, with Surfside cottage being an excellent comfortable retreat. Plenty of useful literature provided by Hilary, a most welcoming host enabled us to plan our week visiting all the highlights of the Isle. The dogs enjoyed the beaches and many coastal walks as much as we did. Wining and dining in Port Erin, notably the Bay Hotel, was varied and exceptional value. A return visit in the future is a must . A very appreciative couple will long remember a fabulous week at Surfside in Port Erin.

I shall have to try and say something different to what everyone has already said but it's going to be very difficult. We totally agree with everything that has been said about this lovely cottage. I could add that the wifi is very good as well (for those of you that like to be on line a lot). Also I liked the 'May we help you' box tucked away in the wardrobe with items such as toothpaste, soap etc This has been our first visit to Surfside, indeed our first visit to the Isle of Man. We love it so much that we have already booked to go back next year. Thank you so much Hilary and Steve

Surfside is a spacious, cosy and warm cottage in an idyllic location of Port Erin. We spent our evenings marvelling at the amazing sunsets through the picture window in the sitting room. From our very comfortable bed we could look out to the horizon through the window. The beach is just a stones through from the cottage and we always looked forward to walking our 2 Yorkshire Terriers every morning and evening. There is also a large conservatory on the lower floor with comfortable seating and tables to enjoy breakfast or relax on a rainy day. The owners have thought of everything to make your break away perfect. Chairs, table and games are available for a day on the beach. Board games DVD’s and CD’s are provided for you to enjoy, not to mention, loads of reading matter and tourist information. It is our first visit to the Island and loved it so much, we were sad to leave. The owners, Steve and Hilary are not to far away should you need them. We couldn’t recommend Surfside Cottage highly enough and hope to return in the future.

This will be the fourth year we have stayed at Surfside for the week of the TT Races. We could not ask for a better base, especially as this year the weather was pretty awful for most of the week (almost every other year it has been mainly warm and sunny). It was lovely to come back to the cottage after a long day watching the races when it had been chilly. The cottage was always warm and cosy with all the little comforts of home on hand. It was very relaxing sitting with a glass of wine looking out at the bay through the huge lounge window and when the sun did finally appear, the sunset over Bradda head is always just superb. We have already booked for 2020 and can't wait to come back again.

Just spent a fabulous week at Surfside Cottage. The cottage is comfy and cosy (we lit the log burner on one chilly evening). The cottage couldn't be nearer the beach with fantastic views. We took our car over on the ferry, so it was easy to travel every day to lots of interesting places on the island, On our last day we took the Trike Tour from Douglas round the TT course - for speed freaks like us senior citizens it was amazing. 100 mph on the mountain course !! Highly recommend the cottage and Isle of Man.

We had the pleasure of staying at Surfside for a prolonged period from Mid December 2018 until the end of March 2019 whilst we waited for our new property to be completed. The location is ideal, the view of Bradda Head and the spectacular sunsets are the cherry on the cake. Surfside is ideally placed for a walk along the promenade or the coastal footpaths, shopping in the village or visiting the local pubs and restaurants, you are only ever 10 minutes walk from them all! The cottage is quirky but very functional and deceptively deceiving in size when first viewed from the outside. We were both very happy during our time at Surfside and would heartily recommend a holiday stay there.

Surfside is a delightful cottage, which is situated in a superb position just above the beach but also close to local shops and restaurants. It is very stylishly presented and tastefully furnished. The moment I set foot inside Surfside Cottage, I knew I would hate to leave at the end of my stay. Amazing sea views over the bay, with spectacular sunset, there can be few locations to rival Port Erin. Hilary was so welcoming, and I can't praise highly enough. If you are thinking about visiting the Isle of Man, look no further than here. Wonderful.

Beautifully presented beach-side cottage fully equipped for everything you might need, and a wood burning stove in the lounge for extra comfort. I’ve stayed at Surfside 4 or 5 times when visiting the Island to catch up with family and friends. We love the location, so handy for all the local amenities, right next to the beach and walks in every direction. The cottage is perfect, cosy, with amazing views and really well equipped. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else on the island now.... home away from home😊

After just 15 minutes from the airport, a warm welcome awaited us. A delightful place with a log burner supplementing the central heating, kept us warm on the wet and windy February nights. Nearby local facilities complimented by local eateries and interesting bars. Go up Bradda Head if you get the chance - AMAZING!!! We loved the Isle Of Man - might come back in the summer when more is open - but beautiful and peaceful nonetheless.

We would agree with all previous comments. We were not lucky enough to see any of the red sunsets, but we did see two female seals with their white pups in the next bay. Since Easyjet started their new route between London Luton and IoM, it is a quick and easy journey, with just a 6 mile drive at either end.

We have just had a wonderful holiday at Surfside. Lovely cottage, with everything you need and great location for the beach and other wonderful places on the island. Delicious Pizza place nearby. We swam, snorkelled, kayaked and surfed without having to drive anywhere. On our last day we could see a seal swimming in the bay from our window! What more could you want.

Our first stay at Surfside - what a great find! We really appreciated the warm, helpful and knowledgable welcome from Hilary and the Surfside attention to detail that ensured that everything you might need whilst staying there is provided. The cottage is a real gem. Comfortable and stylish, well laid out and deceptively spacious, a home from home to return to at the end of the day and an equally attractive proposition for spending some time relaxing, watching the sea, the sky and the fine view of Bradda. And, if you fancy a walk on the beach or a dip in the sea, open the front door, walk about 20 paces, and you're there. Perfect. We'll be back.

Having first stayed some 12 years ago followed by two further visits then a little over 8 years as permanent residents of Port Erin it was a delight to be back for a short visit and had no hesitation in booking Surfside once again. Comfortable as ever and in a superb location close to the water and village facilities it could not be better.

Had a wonderful week staying at the cottage during the Classic TT/ManxGP. It was and ideal location for ourselves so that we could go to watch the racing we wanted to see and not be troubled by road closures on other days. The cottage has all you need either for self catering or in a good area for eating out. The views from the cottage were amazing, one evening watching a fantastic sunset, while the next watching the mist come in following a beautiful day. They owners also provide a lot of information about the area, places to visit, takeway/delivery, maps and programmes. The bedrooms have plenty of storage space and the beds are comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Back again for our second year at Surfside. Just as wonderful as we remembered. The breathtaking view over the bay from the lounge window is worth the visit to the island on its own. The weather wasn't as kind to us this year as last, but we were wonderfully cosy, tucked up comfortably in the cottage and as it is just a nip to quite a few pubs, cafes and restaurants we didn't have far to go to enjoy a pint and a lovely meal whilst watching the wind and rain outside. There was still plenty to do even in the inclement weather and I would recommend a visit to the Manx Museum in Douglas, we spent quite a few interesting hours here. I can't recommend the cottage highly enough and the owners positively go out of their way to make your stay as easy as possible. We will be back again next year, all booked already!

This is the fourth time in three years we've stayed here. Yet again, we've had an amazing family holiday. The location is fantastic; it's right next to the beach which is great for two little ones. The views from the lounge are superb as you can sit on the sofa watching the sunset...great when you're stuck in in the evening with two young children sleeping downstairs. As well as the beach on your doorstep, there's Port Erin Steam Railway no more than a 1 minute walk away, ice-cream parlours and local shops. Hilary, is very welcoming and always meets us when we arrive. We'll definitely be making a fifth visit here soon. Thankyou, Hilary, for another amazing stay.Xx

Lovely cottage, full of character and so close to beach, town centre shops and railway station. Great to relax downstairs in the conservatory in the morning sun and in the lounge in the evening watching the sea and sun. Our first visit to the Isle of Man - weather was fine but cold wind for last week of April but plenty to do and see. Would like to return to IoM and Surfside will be our first choice without a doubt.

Loved everything about the cottage. Warm and cosy with the wonderful views from the bedroom and sitting room. We had two sunny and one rainy day so did a mixture of things in the south. Driving, walking and eating. Lots of info in the little office and had fun being tourists. Got teased by most establishments we visited as to whether we got our passports stamped for coming so far South! Highly recommend staying and owners Hilary and Steve most welcoming 🙂

We have stayed in this beautiful cottage more than once and want to come again. The couple who own it are so lovely. We live in the Isle of Man and wanted a relaxing no hassle weekend away from home life in Douglas and to sample living on the sea front. It was great, heavy rain, gale force winds and the sun all added to the cosy experience we wanted and expected in February. We had Sea views, log fire, pub, local shops, takeaways and restaurants, all close by. Lovely cottage, lots of room, well maintained, and everything you would need. Lots of information leaflets in study for things to do, lots of DVDS & CDS to play on the TV.

As a couple we spent the New Year at the lovely cottage and we had *** stay. The location is great, a few yards walk from all the shops, 2 pubs and numerous cafe's and especially the 20 or so paces to the beach. The cottage itself is so cosy and everything you need is at hand, the top floor is the living space with a nice kitchen, study and sitting room warmed by a wonderful log burner with *** views over the bay. The downstairs has 2 double bedrooms with plenty of storage space and comfy beds. I would recommend this cottage to anyone especially if you have children because of distance to the beach. We have already booked a repeat stay but for a week this time, as well as another long weekend.

This was our first time staying at Surfside Cottage and our experience could not have been any better. We loved Port Erin itself which was full of lovely bars, restaurants and shops; and when it was time to come home from anywhere it was a simple 5 minute walk away from the lovely cottage. The cottage was all we wished for and more, extremely clean with personal touches which made staying there a 5* experience. The cottage has a choice of sitting upstairs admiring the beautiful views or relaxing downstairs in the conservatory listening to music. Thanks so much, we will definitely be back!

Had a very relaxing break at this lovely cottage. Everything you needed and the owners on hand should you require anything. Being on the beachfront and waking up to the views of the sea, were a joy, and just loved sitting on the settee watching the world go by, even in the rain. Would definitely recommend, but not the for less able bodied as lots of steps in the villa, and steep hill to the front door entry.

We love the Isle of Man and this was our second stay at 'Surfside'. It will definitely be our first choice accommodation for future visits. The location is perfect, a stone's throw from the beach and from the main shopping area. The cottage is spacious and well laid out with beautiful views and every comfort you would need. A calm and relaxing environment which contributes to a thoroughly enjoyable stay on the island.

One of the best , if not the best, self catering cottages we have ever had and we have had a few. Brilliant location, a few yards from the beach and local stores , Port Erin is a great place to stay. The cottage its self was very quiet despite the closeness to the 'action', the view from the large picture window overlooking the bay was wonderful. We had few envious glances from people walking by, saying' you are lucky to be staying there'.

This was our first stay at Surfside and it didn't disappoint. It was home from home, every eventuality had been thought of. The decor was charming throughout and the location is stunning, with *** views from the windows on to the beautiful bay of Port Erin. What a luxury to be able to pad across a few feet to sit on the beach in the early morning with a cup of coffee. Both Hilary and Steve were extremely helpful and accommodating with all arrangements and very knowledgeable about where to go and what to see. The cottage has everything you need to help you explore the island. This is a little gem and we feel so lucky to have found it! already booked for next year and checking our schedule to see if we can come back again sooner.

Lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and furnished. We had a wonderful welcome, and had everything we needed. Best for me was to leave in my swimsuit, run into the sea (8 degrees!) and back into the shower within the minute - never been so close to the sea. Then, if we ran out of bacon for breakfast, I could be up to the Co-op or Iceland and back before the frying pan got hot. Add to it the fabulous sunsets, viewed from the living-room, and we couldn't improve on any aspect. We've passed the details to friends, too, so book early or be disappointed.

Had another wonderful holiday at Surfside, probably our 5th/6th & already booked for 2017. The cottage is in a superb location to enjoy the island & the views from the cottage are wonderful during the daytime but the sunsets are truly ***! Found another good pub/restaurant this time, The Liverpool Arms in Onchan, first saw it from the electric tram on the way up to Laxey, went once & then went back a second time as the food was excellent. Lots of other good restaurants in the area, but we really love to stay in Port Erin & Surfside is really home from home for us.

We booked a two night stay at very short notice and could not of received a warmer welcome. The cottage was lovely and warm and beautifully appointed. It was obvious that Hilary and Steve had put a lot of thought into the fixtures and soft furnishings. There was everything you could wish for when on holiday. We will certainly return for another stay at Surfside.

We received a very warm welcome to Surfside cottage, Hilary was incredibly thoughtful and generous. The cottage itself is very well put together and incredibly clean. It felt far bigger than the photos portrayed, while also being so cosy with the wood burning stove in the sitting room. The views were spectacular, you can see the sea from the bed out the bedroom window and the beach is literally on the front doorstep, no shoes needed! It felt like Hilary's main priority was to make sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed and enjoyed the island to the full. The kitchen is really well equipped (for a self proclaimed foodie) and there were lots of games, dvds and videos and CDs as well as some of the *** local milk! All in all a wonderful weekend and we couldn't recommend it more! Thanks for an awesome weekend Hilary! See you again soon!

Booking and preparation for the trip was straightforward due to the superb communication from Hilary. Lovely welcome too. The cottage is beautiful and contains everything you need for a great self-catering trip. The views from the cottage are spectacular. It was brilliant to watch and hear the changing sea. Port Erin is a pretty place with welcoming people and convenient shops and pubs. Plus plenty of opportunities to have a stroll or a more energetic walk. The location provides easy access to all areas of this fantastic island. Great trip.
